Basic Configuration

After installation, a few settings to customize Hibiki.

Transcription language

By default, Hibiki auto-detects the language. You can force a specific language:

1. Settings > Transcription
2. Select the language in Transcription language
3. Supported languages include: French, English, Spanish, German, and 90+ others

Audio device

If you have multiple microphones:

1. Settings > Audio
2. Select your microphone from the list
3. Test with the Test mic button

Tip: A headset mic gives better results than a built-in laptop mic.

Input mode

Hibiki offers two modes:

• Direct insertion: Text is automatically typed in the active application
• Clipboard: Text is copied to the clipboard

To change: Settings > Input > Mode

Overlay

The overlay is the small floating window showing dictation status:

• Position: Move it by holding Alt + left click
• Size: Automatic width (220px at rest, 290px during dictation)
• Hide: Uncheck Show overlay in settings

Auto-start

To launch Hibiki at Windows startup:

1. Settings > General
2. Enable Launch at startup
